뉴멕시코주 알버커키에 거주하시던 Robert G. Kirkham(로버트 G 컬크햄) 교수는 2021 년 1 월 15 일 하나님의 부름을 받아 세상을 떠나셨습니다.
그는 1937 년 9 월 10 일 멤피스 테네시에서 태어나서 캘리포니아에서 알렉산더 해밀턴 고등학교를 마치고
1971 년 캘리포니아 샌디에이고 대학에서 물리학을 전공으로 졸업했습니다
1975 년에 그는 샌디에고 주립 대학에서 물리학 석사 학위를 취득하여 공부를 계속하면서1975 년부터 1979 년까지
로버트는 캘리포니아 라호야의 Scripps 연구소에서 근무했습니다. 그곳에서 그는 ‘해양 연구를위한 LANDSAT-1 MSS 디지털
이미지의 컴퓨터 처리’라는 책을 저술하여 출판했습니다. 1979 년부터 그는 Victor Valley College에서 물리학을 가르치기
시작하여2008 년 은퇴 할 때까지29 년 동안 강의 경력을 쌓았습니다. 1982 년 아내 신경순과 결혼했고 대학교에서 은퇴한 후에
2017 년 알버커키 뉴멕시코로 이사했습니다.
유족으로는 사랑하는 아내 신경순과 네바다 주 Reno에 살고있는그의 형제 Roger Kirkham과
그의 아내 Dee가 있습니다. 로버트는 학생들을 사랑하는 헌신적 인 교수로 알려졌습니다.
그는 또한 음악 감상과 독서를 좋아했습니다. 남은 친구와 가족은 떠나버린 그를 많이 그리워 할것입니다.

Robert G. Kirkham - Obituary
Professor Robert G. Kirkham passed away on January 15th, 2021 in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born September 10, 1937
in Memphis Tennessee. Robert was primarily educated in California graduating from Alexander Hamilton High School and
the University of California San Diego in 1971 where he majored in physics. In 1975 he earned
his Master's degree in physics at San Diego State University where he continued his studies.
From 1975 to 1979, Robert worked for the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla CA.
While there he published a book entitled Computer Processing of LANDSAT-1 MSS Digital Imagery for Marine Studies.
In 1979 he started teaching physics at Victor Valley College in Victorville, CA
where he remained for his 29-year teaching career until his retirement in 2008.
In 1982 he married his wife, Kyong Sun. In 2017,
they moved to Albuquerque New Mexico to be close to his wife's family. Besides his beloved wife Kyong,
he is survived by his step-brother Roger Kirkham and his wife Dee in Reno, NV.
Robert was known as a dedicated teacher who loved his students. He
also loved listening to music and was an avid reader. He will be
greatly missed by friends and family. Contributions in his memory may be made to
